Charity Chief Exec’s Weekly Update 01/04/23
Season 1, Episode 1654, Mar 31, 2023, 12:30 PM
Each week we chat with RNIB’s CEO Matt Stringer to discuss the big news affecting the charity.
Matt began this week with more news about accessible packaging with Unilever working in collaboration with the RNIB to announce plans to add a new enhanced QR code to its packaging, creating a more inclusive experience for blind and partially sighted shoppers in-store and at home with Persil packs in the UK being the first to carry the new enhanced codes.
Then more on collaborative working with not just sight loss charities but within the Disability Charity Consortium (DCC) and work that the RNIB has been doing with the RNID too, on access within media with Matt attending an RNID conference this week.
Lastly Matt talked about a dinner he attended this week at the Royal Institute in London to thank RNIB donors who have been supporting our work around education for young blind and partially sighted people which was attended by The Rt Hon Lord Blunkett with a talk by James Douglas a first year student from Northern Island who is studying Physics at Durham University.
If you have any questions at all relating to sight loss or just looking for help and advice please do call the RNIB helpline on 0303 123 9999 or use your Amazon device and ask Lady A to call the RNIB and speak to one of our Sight Loss Advisors or do visit the RNIB website where you will find a wealth of information and advice too - https://www.rnib.org.uk
