RNIB Voice of the Customer Focus Groups Update - Finance and the Cost of Living Crisis
Season 1, Episode 1648, Mar 29, 2023, 08:00 AM
There are many ways that blind and partially sighted people can get involved in the work that the RNIB does around making a more inclusive society for blind and partially sighted people and even shape the future of the RNIB too.
One way is through the regular Voice of the Customer Focus Group meetings.
This time it was all about finance and how the cost of living crisis has been affecting blind and partially sighted people.
RNIB Connect Radio's Toby Davey was joined by Ross Hedley RNIB Knowledge and Communications Manager plus Grace Hill a visually impaired focus group member to find out more about the recent focus group meeting on finance and the cost of living crisis.
Ross began by outlining to Toby on how the Voice of the Customer focus Group meetings fits in with the wider work of the RNIB Voice of the Customer Research programme and how the group meetings help to bring the voice of blind and partially sighted people to the forefront of all the work the RNIB is doing around inclusion for blind and partially sighted people.
Grace then talked about why she wanted to take part in the focus groups, what she gained from being part of the groups including the opportunity to have your voice heard, help to make changes and meet other visually impaired people at the group meetings.
Ross then talked about the key learnings from the recent meetings around finance and the cost of living crisis before Grace shared some of her own experiences and thoughts about managing your finances as a visually impaired person and how the cost of living crisis has been affecting her and other visually impaired people.
