"Attempts to see the detained SSBC journalists have been in vain" - Patrick Oyet

The Union of Journalists of South Sudan says the prolonged detention of SSBC journalists without trials is a human rights concern. Chairperson of the Union of Journalists, Oyet Patrick says some of them were detained for over a month without appearing in court. South Sudan's constitution states that anybody arrested must appear the court within 24 hours. He says the Union’s attempts to see the detained journalists have been in vain. Oyet says they will be left with no option but to go to court in order to secure the release of the journalists.
