Last week, Alex Murdaugh testified that he had received permission from then-Hampton County sheriff Thomas Smalls to install emergency blue lights on his vehicle. However, Smalls has now testified that he had never given Murdaugh such permission, and this is the first time he has heard of the alleged conversation between them. This raises questions about Murdaugh's credibility and his testimony in general, as well as the controversy surrounding the alleged misuse of emergency blue lights. The conflicting testimonies of Murdaugh and Smalls have led to a new development in the case, with the former sheriff disputing Murdaugh's claims and calling his testimony false.
