We now have over half a year of the main purchase agreement for residential real estate in SC (known as SCR310) handling inspection periods on a "due diligence" basis. When this change was made in 2022, it sent shockwaves through the Greenville real estate market, as buyers, sellers, and realtors were forced to adapt overnight to a new way of approaching home inspection periods and repair negotiations.

There was a lot of confusion and angst at first, but as we consider things in March 2023, it's fair to say that we are finally seeing some stability and standard practices being established. So let's discuss what those practices look like, as well as some major changes coming to some other documents that directly impact real estate transactions in the Greenville area.
