Murdaugh Testimonial Videos Shows New Tactics For Stealing Millions
Mar 01, 2023, 06:00 PM
Alex Murdaugh braggadociosly exploited a quadriplegic client he'd scammed out of $1,000,000 in a commercial, and he boasted about utilizing emotionally charged film of automobile accident victims to secure larger payouts.
The disgraced legal scion, who is 54 years old, did not apologize to any of the several customers from whom he stole millions of dollars last week. Instead, he merely stated that he was "embarrassed" by the robberies.
One of the examples that was presented to the jury was that of Hakeem Pinckney, who suffered a spinal cord injury in a car accident in 2009. Murdaugh made $4.1 million in fees and stole an additional $1 million.
The alleged perpetrator utilized film of Pinckney in a commercial to advocate the use of emotive video in court, with the goal of causing attorneys to cry and therefore increasing the likelihood of favorable settlements.
