Mine Action Authority together with partners to clear more land for Agriculture

The Mine Action Commission together with partners have stressed the need to continue clearing more agriculture land to increase food production. UN Mine action notes that 40% of grounds cleared of unexploded ordinance in the country are being used for cultivation. The country representative of food and agriculture organization – FAO Meshack Malo says landmines pose a high risk to farmers. He says currently only 4% of arable land is being utilized.
