Part 2: Alex Collins and the Shootout with ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner
Deputy Alex Collins is shot five time by a fugitive ex-LAPD cop who has already killed two innocent victims, one police officer and wounded three other officers.
[Part 2 is being released one day early so you can enjoy Thanksgiving!]
For nine days in February 2013, ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner went on a killing rampage. After being fired in 2009, Dorner vowed to 'get even' with anyone who wronged him. The results? Two innocent victims killed on February 3, one of them the daughter of a former LAPD captain who represented Dorner at his termination hearing. Dorner then ambushed an LAPD officer on February 7th, wounding him. One minute later, Dorner ambushed two Riverside police officers. One officer died and the other was severely wounded.
But Dorner wasn't finished. A final gun battle happens in Big Bear. Detective Josh MacKay is killed, and Deputy Alex Collins is struck five times. Near death, the story of how Alex survived and went on to fulfill his dream of being a SWAT officer defies the odds. Alex describes the events leading up to the shootout, his recovery, and what he's doing now.
