Connect Voices Round Up 30 November 2022
Season 1, Episode 1498, Nov 30, 2022, 09:00 AM
Clare Aldworth, RNIB Voice of the Customer Insight Officer shares the latest opportunities for blind and partially sighted people to get involved in with RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey.
Opportunities highlighted this week included:
RNIB Tracker survey for Your experiences of the general public as a blind or partially sighted person.
This is a quarterly online survey run by RNIB, which allows us to gather a wide range of views from a large number of blind and partially sighted people. These insights we gather help us deepen our understanding of the issues blind and partially sighted people are facing. They ensure we stay relevant and that we’re directing our resource where they’re needed. It’s a really important opportunity to put your lived experience of at the centre of our work.
Anyone who is 16 or over and affected by sight loss can take part in the Tracker Survey online, via email or over the phone via the RNIB Helpline 0303 123 9999.
Help the RNIB create training resources for health professionals
This role is an opportunity to use your lived experience to help the RNIB to create training resources for low vision practitioners. We would like 4-6 blind or partially sighted people to support RNIB staff in the development of these so that the final resources are accurate for blind and partially sighted people.
You will be involved at various stages over a 6 month period via virtual meeting and email. If you are interested please email eyecare.professionals@rnib.org.uk and include a couple of paragraphs about yourself and any similar roles you have done in the past; either in RNIB or elsewhere, as a volunteer or customer.
