Two teenagers who were reportedly malnourished and "covered with bruises" fled and sought aid.

Harris County Constable Precinct 5 issued an Amber Alert on Oct. 18 for five children ages 7 to 14 and an 18-year-old believed to be with Zaikiya Duncan and Jova Terrell. The couple was later found in Louisiana, but only one child was there. Others were at a relative's.

Two teens asked for help in their Cypress neighborhood, triggering the Amber Alert. According to the criminal complaint, on Oct. 18 around 5:30 a.m., 15-year-old twins reported they escaped from their mother's house.

Apparently, twins "bruised, barefoot, and half dressed The kids were hungry." Constable Precinct 5 officer saw the youths "had lacerations on their flesh consistent with handcuffs/wrist restraints"

The 15-year-old girl apparently "wore a gray trash bag as a shirt."

Duncan allegedly kept her children in the laundry room and made them drink bleach, Lysol, and Easy-Off oven cleaner if they talked too much.

Duncan allegedly bleached their bodies and genitalia. Teens reportedly had to use a pail to urinate. Duncan allegedly forced the male defecate and drink his pee.

Extension wires, curtain rods, and other metal poles were utilized to abuse the youngsters. Duncan fed them "mustard, relish, or bologna sandwiches 1-3 times a week" and they drank from the washing machine's water supply valve.

Duncan gave a man 24 Benadryl tablets, causing him to seize. She allegedly gave him 20 pills to make him sleep.

X-rays showed Terrell hit the man, who suffered an orbital fracture. Her hands were "deformed and bloated," according to the complaint.

The boy told investigators he found a handcuff key in his mom's pocketbook. Until Duncan fell asleep, he hid the key in his lips, and they escaped.


Abuse allegedly began July 1.


Duncan was convicted of child desertion in October 2019.


Reports KPRC-TV Louisiana State Police arrested Duncan and Terrell in Baton Rouge, and Child Protective Services has the victims.


The Harris County DA's office has accepted child injury charges.


Duncan and Terrell are in jail in Louisiana, according to jail records.
