Texan woman accused of killing husband by drowning him in creek.
This week, a 44-year-old woman was arrested and charged with murder for the apparent drowning death of her husband in a creek.
According to a press release issued by the Denton Police Department, police and Denton Fire Rescue responded to the 1700 block of Spencer Road on Tuesday, August 16 at about 2:57 p.m. after receiving a report of a drowning. Person who called said they saw a woman in the creek with a dead man near Shady Oaks Drive and Spencer Road.
The male was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene by police.
Dora Maldonado, the suspect, allegedly initially told authorities that a "unknown male was involved in her husband's drowning." Maldonado allegedly told police that she killed her husband by drowning him, despite initially telling them that she had met an unknown man.
According to the police, Maldonado was arrested on murder charges on Tuesday night and taken to the Denton County Jail. The reports state that she was given a bail of $500,000.
