Last Minute Visa for Nursing Home Worker Facing Deportation

An aged care nurse and his family in Murray Bridge have been granted new bridging visas, four days before they were set to be deported.
Lerwin Nursing Home worker Clifford Chisengalumbwe faced deportation today, Friday 30 September, if the Federal Government did not grant he, Ngoza, his wife, and Mckayla, their daughter new visas.
Following intervention from his immigration lawyer, Mark Glazbrook, and a strong media campaign last month, the Immigration Minister has decided to grant the Zambian family bridging visas until January, which will be long enough for them to apply for permanent residency.
