Nationwide Discussion on Civil-military relations in Morobo

Episode 2051,   Sep 07, 2022, 08:38 AM

The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization has recently facilitated a workshop with funding from IOM and Whitaker Peace Initiative in Panyume Payam, one of the payams under Morobo County.  The conference was known as The Second Civilian-Military Trust and Confidence Dialogue in Panyume Payam of Morobo County

Morobo County is one of the six counties in Central Equatoria State, with more than 100 thousand people, according to the to 2008 census. The county borders Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Morobo falls in the green belt in Equatoria and is rich in natural resources, especially fertile land.

However, the area has been affected by the recent armed conflict, and problems continued to be reported, even during the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement. Relations between civilians and the military were sometimes not good.
That is why organizations like CEPO came in to help restore peaceful relations. LIsten to the full discussion with  Mr. Moses Putie, Project Manager for the Community Empowerment for Progress Organization in CES and   Rt Rev Bishop Samuel Lomude – Bishop of Mundu Diocese, Lainya.
