Online Car Sale Ends In Murder of Couple | True Crime Podcast Daily Brief

Episode 444,   Sep 13, 2022, 03:00 PM

A man in his twenties was convicted guilty of murdering a couple that he met through an online vehicle sale ad.

The 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office released a statement saying a jury found Kyree Brown guilty on multiple counts, including two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of second-degree arson, three counts of aggravated motor vehicle theft, felony theft, and bait advertising.

It has been revealed that Brown advertised the sale of a stolen car on the website Letgo. Reports indicate that Joe Roland expressed interest in purchasing the vehicle on August 14, 2020.

Joe Roland and his wife Jossline allegedly picked up the automobile from Brown at Southlands Mall. Brown "pulled out a revolver and demanded the couple hand over the cash they brought to purchase the car" after Joe "noticed irregularities with the vehicle title" and brought them up.

Brown allegedly killed them with five bullets. From what we can gather, he made off with around $3,000 from the couple before taking their car and setting it on fire in an unrelated location.

An official statement from the district attorney's office quotes Chief Deputy District Attorney Garrik Storgaard as saying, "This defendant assumed a phony persona to draw this innocent couple into his snare, purporting to be someone he wasn't and to sell a car he didn't own."

Brown's email address was used to post the car on the website, which investigators say connects him to the crime.

A story claims that Joe and Jossline Roland have left behind five kids.

The date of Brown's sentencing is November 21.
