"The original recording of the Sony CFS-W3045 got me thinking about loops and my love of cassette tapes/tape decks over the years. The sound of the tape being turned over, rewound, fast forwarded and paused are amongst some of my favourite sounds.
"They remind me of recording songs from the radio when I was a teenager. When recording my own material, I use a Sony Cassette-Corder TCM-818 (and also a Sony dictaphone) I was inspired to blend the sounds of W3045 & 818 together to create my composition.
"The sounds from the 818 contain recordings of guitar directly onto the tape deck and manipulated using delay/loop pedal. With the abrupt ending of my composition, I was trying to replicate the tape running out, which would happen often when trying to record my favourite songs from the radio."
