Army report into Mayom extrajudicial killings presented to Chief of Defense Forces

An initial report into the recent execution of suspects in Mayom county, Unity state has been completed.  Army spokesperson, Maj. Gen Lul Ruai says a senior officer who was sent to Mayom where four suspects alleged to be the killers of Mayom County Commissioner were executed, has returned to Juba with a report. Major General Lul Ruai says the SSPDF will carry out an investigation and the authorities will bring whoever is involved to book. Maj Gen Ruai says investigations are being conducted at two levels. 

Two weeks ago, video footage surfaced on social media showing uniformed soldiers executing three prisoners of war via firing squad, while setting another one on fire in a hut.
