Analyst says Kenya election presents economic opportunities for South Sudan

An economic analyst says the results of the Kenyan elections should present a new opportunity for South Sudan to push for economic gains. Akol Nyok Akol Dok says South Sudan as a member of the East African Community, should use the election of William Ruto as the new president to explore issues of free trade zones, lifting of taxes and improvement of infrastructure – including the construction of a proposed road from Nadapal at the South Sudan-Kenya border to Juba. Akol says the South Sudan government should use the opportunity of a new government in Kenya to boost trade and economic development back home.
