"When I started listening to the recording, I found there was a great amount of "tone" behind the rhythmic clacking. Even though on the surface it triggers more of a sterile, repetitious, tax office clerk association, it does have quite a beat and -- even more so -- a hum to it. I made it my task to exclusively use material from the original recording: by chopping short bits, aggressively filtering for frequencies that have life and afterwards playing with the tune.

"During the final cut, I squeezed the sum through an analog delay. The result is a rather "machiney" and upbeat, repetitive piece. I imagine, that may be the kind of music we would listen to, if all our music was created with electronic calculators. "
