The US government has cut funds to RJMEC and CTSAMVM out of disappointment and frustration by the government of South Sudan and their inaction to effectively implement the peace agreement, and inaction to act on reports of violations to the peace deal. The most senior official at the US embassy in Juba William Flens stresses that although the South Sudanese government has also not done enough to implement the agreement, Washington is committed to the peace process and the peace of South Sudan.
