Disrespecting God is always a bad idea. Ancient Israel learned this when they treated the Ark of the Covenant as a good luck charm and the Philistines learned it when they treated the Ark as a victory trophy. This ancient story recorded in I Samuel serves as a stark reminder to modern readers that the glory of God is not to be taken lightly. These lessons will be discussed in this lesson which is entitled, “Ebenezer.” This word, meaning “stone of help,” is readily available for any who will give God the glory.
