There's not a road here, there's not a river there

This composition is all about creating a brand new sense of place by combining elements of two recordings - crows nesting by a stream in some woods in Oxford, UK, and cars passing over a bridge by a cafe in Vicenza, Italy. There's not a road going through the Oxford woods, and yet we hear cars passing by in the soundscape. There are no trees, crows or woodpeckers in this part of Vicenza, and yet we hear them. Through sound, we have created a new, impossible location that exists simultaneously both in Oxford and Vicenza, but which also exists in neither. Created by Cities and Memory.
