Warning: this clip discusses the topics of tragedy, war and loss.
When all else is out of our control, what is the one thing that cannot be taken from us? The overwhelming super power that is our human spirit.
Influenced by the devastating war that is currently unfolding before us, this week’s Lightbulb Moment is for anybody who needs a reason not to give up. Holly shares how we all have the ability to rewrite our own stories, and sometimes, even though it might be impossible to fathom in this moment, accepting our darkest times of suffering and grief can often be the key to lifelong freedom and strength.
In this clip taken from Holly’s thought provoking conversation with Henrietta Morrison, founder of the revolutionary dog and cat food brand, Lily’s Kitchen, Henrietta depicts her own experiences of tragedy as a refugee evacuated from Beirut, followed by the devastating loss of both parents by the age of twelve.
However, despite the many battles Henrietta has faced, she reflects on why and how she chose to be a survivor instead of a victim, and refused to let the past define her. Recognising that she wouldn’t be the fearless and capable woman she is today had she not suffered hardship in her younger life, Henrietta’s story is one of unrelenting determination.
As we try to understand the terror, destruction and displacement that has been forced upon so many helpless Ukrainian citizens, Holly hopes Henrietta's account offers some encouragement to people across the globe.
