"I think it’s too late now. He won’t answer me. It either means he doesn’t love me anymore, or it has already got him. I’m not sure which I would prefer more.

The doors are frosted shut and the power has been off for a few days. The bathtub is hard and cold against my back but it’s the only place I feel safe. I can hear it scratching against the bathroom door, begging to come in, whispering sweet nothings. I feel like gagging."
