A jewel in the British sporting calendar, The Open’s history is stuffed full of iconic moments and unforgettable Championships.

In 2021, seven Opens were recounted through the perspective of those who lived every putt. With exclusive interviews, spine-tingling commentary and emotive narration from the likes of James Nesbitt, Di Stewart, Tommy Fleetwood and DJ Spoony, The Story of… immersed listeners in the tales of past summers.

From the tip off in the pub that warned Steve Elkington of an unforecasted deluge, to the heart-breaking moment shared between friends Adam Scott and Ernie Els at the back of the 18th Green, the revelations from players at the heart of the action lay bare the nerves and emotions that a major Championship provokes.

In each episode, fans are invited to take ‘The Greatest Walk in Golf’ down the 18th fairway, right alongside those lucky enough to be crowned Open Champion.
