Rome talks to resume end of month

The Community of Sant'Egidio says talks between government and the South Sudan Opposition Movement Alliance (SSOMA) are expected to resume at the end of this month, in Rome - Italy. 

According to officials from Sant'Egidio, the negotiations had been delayed due to unfavorable conditions in  recent weeks. The mediators were also waiting for a planned retreat of the principals in Uganda, which was indefinitely suspended last week.    

President Salva Kiir called for the resumption of talks with the hold-out groups last year after he announced a suspension of negotiations citing alleged continued violations by the hold-out groups in the Equatorias.
