Legendary Welshman Peter James was born in Carmarthen in 1944 and started playing in the local dance band from the age of 9. He became a professional drummer at the age of 16 when he joined The Blackjacks and has cemented his role as part of the British Invasion of the 1960s.
In this episode, Pete tells us some amazing stories and paints a picture of what life was like for a professional drummer in the 1960s from appearing on TV and radio shows, travelling to Hamburg and playing at The Top 10 Club, recording at Abbey Road Studios on the same day that The Beatles, being the top rated band at Butlins and nearly joining the roster of acts on the Larry Parnes circuit.
