The chairperson of the Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan has called for the quick implementation of the revitalized peace agreement to protect the local population from human rights violations.

Yasmin Sooka says outstanding issues in the implementation of the peace agreement impact on the human rights situation in South Sudan. Making reference to Yei River State, Sooka says soldiers waiting to be part of the unified national force are poorly resourced and are now preying on the local population for survival.
She said this during a press briefing in juba this morning.
