RNIB Helping Employers Understand Sight Loss

Season 1, Episode 1095,   Jan 27, 2022, 10:40 AM

Charity RNIB are calling for businesses in Northern Ireland to 'see the employee, not the sight loss.'

Through their new 'Understanding Sight Loss For Employers and work colleagues’ course, they hope to help strengthen inclusion practices within the workforce and ensure people with sight loss have equal opportunities.

The free eLearning tool is designed to help employers and work colleagues gain a greater understanding of sight loss, and the differences it can make to the working life of blind or partially sighted employees.

The resource has been created by RNIB in Northern Ireland through its Eye Work Too employability programme and our Paulina Kuchorew spoke with Nigel Townley from RNIB as well as one of the participants of the Eye Work Too programme, Bessie Cairns.
