Episode 9, Jan 22, 2022, 06:17 PM
Today I speak to Liverpool based playwright and writer David Moorhead about his excellent new play ‘Forgotten Voices’ which is the true story of his grandmother and her life as a Trade Unionist in apartheid South Africa who eventually settled in the UK. David talks about the play and on his approach to writing and creativity.

David’s approach to writing is the following –
1) Love what it is you do
2) Rewrite it
3) Deal with the fear
4) Act it out with yourself
5) Introduce your character
6) Get people to like your character
7) Show the character betrayed early on and show their vulnerability
8) Get the key parts of the play down on paper
9) Make it relatable
10) Make the person on the stage key, they are not a vehicle for politics
