"In this soundwork I used a recording of a radio service shortwaves transmission test as the original basis. I was intrigued by creating a sonic world from this source material of effectively white noises and high frequencies' testings. I wanted to create an inner, musical life for the shortwaves, in which the high frequencies evolve and reveal their music. I used both the original elements and also manipulated the high frequencies to create melodic and harmonic threads. I also used sampled original music. The original resampled music is a composition of mine - Cloud Chasing and features: Phil Bywater - saxophone, Elliot Folvig - electric guitar, Elissa Goodrich - vibraphone. I imagined the soundwork to reveal a window into the inner world of the shortwave radio transmission."

Composition by Elissa Goodrich.
