Brighton Business Show January 2022
Episode 48, Jan 16, 2022, 04:00 PM
One of the best things that a business owner can do is to network. But what exactly does that mean?
The idea of walking into a room full of people you don’t know can fill people with dread.
The awful thought of being sold to and talked at for an hour or two puts a lot of people off and what if you invest all that money on joining a group and never make a sale?
This month Lisa Moore ( who is also Regional Director of The Athena Network in East & Mid Sussex ) is joined by Bradley Hatchett, Network my Club and Lyndsey Clay founder of Connected Brighton.
The show offers great insight into how networking really works, and gives tips on how to overcome nerves and get the most out of your networking.
The benefits of networking include building long lasting relationships / friendships and creating a fantastic support network.
Here’s a bit more about the guests:
Bradley started Network My Club in 2016. They are a business networking membership organisation, bringing together businesses of all shapes and sizes together at events at iconic sporting venues, such as Twickenham rugby stadium, the Kia Oval Cricket Ground, locally at the Amex Stadium and many others.
Lyndsey Clay is a local girl, born and bred, and has a background in planning & performance management and has always been known as a social butterfly.
She set up Connected Brighton in 2021 to host bespoke events that connect people who are new to the city or newly single. All events support small and local businesses and champion the city.
The idea came from her own need for connection in lockdown, being newly single with a changing social group Lyndsey wanted to get out and support her favourite restaurants, bars and pubs but didn’t have the usual crowd to go with. So she created my own social platform.
Connected Brighton are a Visit Brighton partner and also host networking events for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Lisa Moore is the Regional Director of The Athena Network in East & Mid Sussex and was originally a member of the Haywards Heath group which helped her to grow her Personal Training business. In 2019 she took over the franchise which works with professional women and has three main aims:
To provide opportunities to make strategic connections
To develop members business skills and to encourage women in business to support others for great success.
Athena has been established for over 16 years and groups across the UK and the world.
