Federal Member for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie has been brought to tears in Parliament talking about her family’s experience with mitochondrial disease,
In the hope of passing Maeve's Law in the coming days, the Centre Alliance member spoke on Monday about her grandson Liam who was born premature in February 2021 due to an extremely rare form of mitochondrial disease, phosphoglycerate kinase deficiency.
Another issue being debated in Parliament today is the contentious Religious Discrimination Bill.
