Katriona Taylor Releases Her 5th Album Blind Passion in Time For World Sight Day 2021

Katriona Taylor is a visually impaired Jazz Singer/Songwriter who has recently released her 5th album ‘Blind Passion’ where Katriona has rearranged songs by a number of blind musicians including Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles along with some of her own compositions in time for World Sight Day 2021 (Thursday 14 Oct 2021) to raise awareness of the eye Condition Stargardt’s disease which Katriona has had since the age of 7.

Katrina is an ambassador for Stargardt’s Connected and RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey caught up with Katriona to find out more about both her new album ‘Blind Passion’ and her role as an Ambassador for  Stargardt’s Connected.

Katriona began by explaining to Toby about what life is like living with Stargardt’s disease, how the condition has affected her life since the age of 7, and why she decided to become an Ambassador for Stargardt’s Connected in the UK. 

Katriona also talks about her album ‘Blind Passion’, why she wanted to rearrange tracks by blind musicians and how she has put her own mark on the tracks, selecting as an example of one of the tracks from the album 'It Don’t Mean A Thing’ by Duke Ellington and paying tribute to blind Grammy award winning singer Diane Schuur…
