Charity Chief Exec’s Weekly Update 25/09/21
Season 1, Episode 955, Sep 25, 2021, 09:00 AM
Each week we chat with RNIB’s CEO Matt Stringer to discuss the big news affecting the charity.
As National Eye Health Week comes to a close for this week's catch up with Matt Stringer, we start with a reminder about all the eye health information that is available from the RNIB website as well as the very useful eye condition booklets which were developed with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and of course mentioning again about the importance of keeping up your regular eye tests.
Following on from the success of the 'What's In Store' pop up shop in Hammersmith highlighting the issues around inaccessible packaging for blind and partially sighted shoppers a video also titled 'What's In Store' has been produced and shared on social media raising the issue of inaccessible packaging to businesses and the wider public with the hope that more manufacturers and producers will follow Kellogg's lead by incorporating accessible packaging on their products too.
And we end with another great RNIB partnership this time with Blind Ambition on the 'Looking for Work' webinars which are running throughout the autumn providing support and advice on all aspects of searching for employment, and talking generally about employment for blind and partially sighted people.
To find out more about the wealth of eye health information that is available from the RNIB website or in booklet form, the 'What's In Store' video, details about the 'Looking for Work' webinars or if you have any questions relating to sight loss do call the RNIB helpline on 0303 123 9999 or visit the RNIB website - https://www.rnib.org.uk
