You donโt have to look outside for love. You will find this in yourself.
Life has a way of providing the lessons you need at the time. Lessons that are meant to nurture you as an individual. You will survive and you will thrive. You should only feel sorry for yourself if you want to remain a victim. It wonโt serve you in living the life you want to live.โ
I believe my biggest learning has been that life is lived by the choices we make day in, day out. Not by leaving it to chance. This quote by Miranda Marriot explains it well. โI choose to live by choice, not by chance; to make changes, not excuses; to be motivated, not manipulated; to be useful, not used; to excel, not to compete. I choose self-esteem, not self-pity. I choose to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinion of others. I choose to be me.โ
If your life was a bus, then who is driving? Are you a driver or a passenger on the bus of your life? Most people are passengers. What about you?
It is easy to tell if someone is a driver or a passenger. Listen to them talk and you will hear passengers sitting at the back complaining about where their bus has gone. Not only do they complain, but they hold someone or something else responsible for where their bus has ended up.
Avoiding responsibility for your choices and actions, looking outside yourself for the cause produces a victim mentality.
It is the tiny, daily mindset shifts and actions that help people become the driver of their lives, to be more empowered and positive. When you see the world differently, you behave differently. It is these behavior changes that pave the way for more happiness, success, and self-confidence. It is the small things you do in life that have the biggest impact.
