Inside Sailtrek SOC: Videographer/Photographer, Taimy Alvarez, Sailtrek SOC

Meet Taimy Alvarez, a south Florida commercial and editorial photographer based in Miramar. For the past 24 years her sincere passion for all that encompasses photography and videography, from beautiful lighting to genuine faces, has taken her to some unique and mesmerizing places throughout Florida, the Caribbean, and South America. It has allowed her to give a voice to the voiceless, capture and document key moments in history, and evoke emotions through her camera lens. Her work has been recognized by members within the art of film, journalism, and photography such as The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (Emmy) and The Pulitzer Prize (a Sun Sentinel group award). She is a Cuban-American who grew up in South Florida, a melting pot of immigrants from the Caribbean and South America. Her family is originally from the Spanish Canary Islands, with many family members still living in Cuba and the Canary Islands.
