FUNCTIONS AND MANDATE OF THE SOUTH SUDAN LAW REVIEW COMMISSION

The South Sudan Law Review Commission (referred as SSLRC) is an independent institution that is established by the Government to study and keep under constant review the laws of South Sudan, with a view to making recommendations for their systematic improvement, development, modernization, and reform. The main focus of the Commission is to make the legal system relevant, effective, fair, just, and accessible by modernizing, clarifying, and simplifying the law.

Mr. Karlo Kiir Deng, Acting Senior Legal Advisor, Mr. Nyombe Edward Marle, Legal Advisor from the Commission and Mr. Samuel Wambugu, Judicial Affairs Officer from UNMISS Rule of Law Section joined Sani Martin on the Nationwide program to discuss more about the workings of the commission.
