Revenue collection along Juba-Nimule road, banned.

The National Police Service has banned illegal revenue collection along the Nimule-Juba Road.
The resolution was reached on Tuesday, during a meeting of the national security taskforce, attended by representatives of the security organs including the director of customs service.
According to the new arrangements, illegal collections and check points have been banned with immediate effect, taxes will only be paid in Nimule and upon arrival in Juba.
Acting Police spokesperson, Col. James Dak Yak says truck drivers and other commuters have also been instructed to depart from Nimule to Juba at midday and adds that no vehicle will be allowed to leave after 4’Oclock in the evening for safety reasons
Last week, the South Sudan government deployed a joint security force to provide protection to truck drivers transporting goods from neighboring countries.
The drivers recently parked their vehicles at the Elegu border crossing point in protest over deteriorating security situation along the Juba-Nimule Road.
