Police assures stranded truck drivers delivering goods to South Sudan of escort from Juba to Nimule and back

Hundreds of trucks loaded with goods are reportedly parked at Nimule – Elegu border crossing point between South Sudan and Uganda for fear of insecurity on the Juba- Nimule highway.
The drivers are demanding protection from the government of South Sudan following road ambushes in recent days that killed two foreign drivers and Catholic nuns.
South Sudan national police service spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Daniel Justin says security team was dispatched to inspect the work of the forces deployed to secure Juba- Nimule highway.
