How to Train, Coach, and Mentor Your Team | Road to Revenue #72

Aug 09, 2021, 09:00 AM

When people used to ask me the difference between a trainer, coach, and a mentor, I used to joke that the difference was the prices and the
certifications. Now, I define what it means to be an effective trainer, coach, and mentor differently.

I define a (good) coach as someone who is able to bring the best out of you (and those around you). A trainer also wants to bring the best out of you, but they typically have a narrower area of focus and often work one-on-one. A
mentor is someone who gives you the best of themselves, whether that is their knowledge, relationships, or even motivation.
