Episode 1693, Aug 02, 2021, 03:41 PM
The Other Political Parties group or the OPP have confirmed that their members were not among the legislators sworn into office today, and says their absence from the House will not affect the functioning of the legislature.
The OPP was meant to nominate 38 members to the legislature: 30 to the legislative assembly and 8 to the Council of States, however internal disagreements have delayed the submission of their list of nominees.
The spokesperson of the OPP, Albino Akol Atak says five of the six parties within the group have completed their nominations and they are waiting for the party of Peter Mayen to present his nominees before they submit a final list to President Salva Kiir.
Albino welcomed the swearing in of the House.
