All About Blind Notes with Ravi Sagoo

Blind Notes is a new show starting here on RNIB Connect Radio on Wednesday 21 July 2021 at 6pm where Scottish Broadcaster Ravi Sagoo conducts one to one interviews with seven visually impaired musicians all about their life and career in the music industry.
Visually impaired musicians who are featured in Blind Notes include:
DIANE SCHUUR- Twice Grammy award winning American jazz pianist and singer
ANDREA BEGLEY- Irish singer and winner of The Voice UK
SALLY CLAY- Scotland’s first blind Theatre Musical Director – includes exclusive performances
RICKY McKINNIE- Member and now leader of Blind Boys Of Alabama Gospel singing group
ANNE WILKINS- Welsh opera singer and Lockdown internet sensation
ROBIN MILLAR- Multi-instrumentalist and Record producer with 140 Gold and Platinum discs including 10 million selling”Diamond Life” by Sade
BALUJI SHIRAVASTAV CBE- Indian sitar maestro and leader of Inner Visions orchestra made up of visually impaired musicians.
Connect Radio’s Toby Davey caught up with Ravi to find out more about his new show Blind Notes.
Ravi explained to Toby all about how he got into broadcasting, pestering BBC Radio Scotland before he got his first contribution out on air, why he wanted to put together Blind Notes and focus on the careers of seven great visually impaired musicians as well as talking about his own sight condition keratoconus, which is very mild compared to some of the main common eye conditions.
