Rage with Anya Stanley

Episode 72,   Jul 07, 2021, 08:00 AM

Entertainment writer (The AV Club, Fangoria) Anya Stanley joins Vespe and Wampler to peel back the layers on Rage and dig deep into the reasons why King pulled it. There's a healthy debate about when an artist should self-censor and if they think he made the right call pulling this book in the wake of real life violence. Plus there's some chatter about what it's like being a horror mom, a little history of the video nasties and everything in-between. It's a more serious chat than you're used to getting around here, but a much needed look at King's most controversial book.

Rage is perhaps Stephen King's most controversial book and is in fact the only one he allowed to fall out of print following an unfortunate series of copycat crimes tied to this story of a teen who brings a gun to school and holds his class hostage.
