Daily Dose @ 5: Khairy said vaccination exercises depended on supply received, Japan to give millions of vaccine doses across Asia

AMONG the headlines for Friday, 25 June, 2021, the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister, Khairy Jamaluddin assures the public that Covid-19 vaccines are being sent to vaccination centres and states as soon as they arrive.

Khairy explained that the utilisation of the available vaccines currently stood at 90 pct.

Also, Japan announced today that it will send the Oxford-AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccines to Asian nations starting next week.

Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said the country will donate one million coronavirus vaccine shots each to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.

Separately, it will also provide 11 million doses of the vaccine to Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, and the Pacific island countries under the UN-backed COVAX, a global vaccine sharing initiative, from next month.
