Jun 14, 2021, 11:32 PM

Fevzi Turkalp, the Gadget Detective, joins Danny Pike on BBC Surrey and Sussex to discuss the latest tech news and reviews. This week; Whatsapp, which is owned by Facebook, is criticising governments for arguing against the use of strong encryption, which would mean weakening of security, but at the same time Whatsapp is sharing our data with its parent company for monetisation.

First Gadget of the Week is the Soundcore Motion Boom. This rechargeable and affordable stereo Bluetooth v5 speaker is completely waterproof and will even float, ideal if you're startled by bathtime spiders, offers superb 30watt sound quality and can even be used as a power bank to charge other devices. You can even pair two of these for louder playback with wider separation. Scoring 4.5 out of 5, listen in for more information.

Second Gadget of the Week is the Anker Nebula Solar portable projector. Supporting a full HD definition of 1080p and a picture bright enough to use during daylight, the rechargeable battery offers 3 hours' playback or can be powered from the mains. With decent quality built in speakers plus Dolby Digital and Bluetooth speaker support, this unit even has Android TV giving access to the Google App Store, allowing installation of streaming services, or you can attach external storage or cast from a compatible device. Scoring 4 out of 5, listen in for more details.
