2020 PORSCHE TAYCAN CRUSHES ITS EPA RANGE
Dan Edmunds at Autoblog: "I’m driving on what I call my "Lap of Orange County" test loop, an EV range test course of my own design. It’s made up of suburban residential and arterial streets, along with a stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway. Speed limits range between 25 and 60 mph, with much of it in the 35-to-45-mph range."
He continues: "I start out in Range mode instead of the default Normal mode because, well, this is a range test. This configures the Taycan to prioritize its front motor, and it also drops the air suspension to low mode regardless of speed. I begin to get optimistic about the Taycan’s chances after about two hours. I roll into my driveway with 209.2 miles on the trip odometer. After two laps of Orange County, the Taycan has surpassed its rated range by 8.2 miles, and it did so with another 78 miles on the range meter. That’s 287.2 miles of projected range, folks, some 43 percent better than the EPA rating. I’ve taken numerous trips in many different electric cars, so I was never concerned about the Taycan even if its range did prove to be “just” 201 miles. But it’s now abundantly clear to me that the Taycan Turbo’s real world range is easily better that the number the EPA gave it."

PORSCHE VENTURES INVESTS IN SOFTWARE START-UP NITROBOX
The software start-up Nitrobox GmbH has concluded a financing round in the single-digit million euro range: The “NeueCapital Partners” fund from Silicon Valley and Porsche Ventures, the venture capital unit of the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer, took a stake in the Hamburg-based company.
The Nitrobox platform enables international corporations to handle financial processes via a central solution and to control them in a flexible way – from modelling the business model to digital payments, billing, account receivables management and compliance. This enables customers to bring new digital products and services to market quickly, while reducing their process costs.

TESLA MODEL 3 VS. PORSCHE TAYCAN CHARGING SPEED TESTED BY GERMAN PUBLICATION
"The Porsche Taycan is out and we’ve already declared it the best Porsche ever, but questions still remain about the Taycan’s low efficiency and how that affects its charging rate. Early owners and reviews have found that the Taycan is more efficient than ratings suggest, so how does that affect its actual charge rate?" asks electrek: "Nextmove, a German YouTube channel, put the car to the test against the most efficient EV, the Tesla Model 3, to see which one would win: Tesla’s lower peak kW rate and higher efficiency, or Taycan’s higher rate and lower efficiency. Firstly, they found that the Taycan was not capable of charging at the full rated 270kW. Even pulling into the station with 1% battery, they never saw a rate above 255kW. In Electrek’s own test drive, we also only saw a peak of 252kW. On a charge from 0-50%, the Taycan reaches a rate of 856km/h on IONITY, while the Model 3 reaches a rate of 766km/h. But on a V3 Supercharger, the Model 3 jumps past the Taycan and charges at 905km/h when measured from 0-50%."
AUDI AND COSTCO TEAM UP FOR E-TRON DISCOUNT THAT CAN HIT $13,000
" Audi has a killer offer for the E-Tron SUV, delivered to the customers in cooperation with Costco. An analysis from CarsDirect reveals that you can save as much as $13,000 from the zero-emission model’s MSRP." says InsideEVs: "A dealer incentive bulletin shows that the program began last month and currently involves a $2,000 cash bonus on all 2019 E-Tron models when buying or leasing through the Costco Auto Program. If you agree to complete an optional survey, you’ll also receive a $500 Costco Cash Card. In addition, the electric SUV is eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit and certain state and local plug-in incentives. There’s also a $3,000 Marketing Allowance discount by some dealers, which, according to CarsDirect, can be combined with 0.99% APR financing for up to 66 months."

"Audi's first electric vehicle in the United States, the e-tron SUV, now comes with access to off-site solar power in a deal limited to 3000 customers. According to Audi and its partner in the venture, clean-energy supplier Arcadia, the 10-year subscription will include enough electricity to offset the cost of about 2400 miles per year, or what Audi estimates is one full e-tron charge each month." writes Car and Driver: "After signing up, customers pay their utility bill through Arcadia, which will calculate the credits or savings that the remote solar panels generate and apply that to the customer's bill.

UK TO CREATE FIRST ZERO-EMISSIONS BUS TOWN
"The UK government has announced a grant scheme for local authorities to create Britains first zero-emissions bus town. Funding will be provided for electric buses and infrastructure to the area that can provide a convincing plan." reports electrive: "The electric bus town scheme will be funded with up to £50 million. Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: “Buses carry more people than any other form of public transport in the UK, and with 200 electric buses able to offset 3,700 diesel cars, it is clear they have a crucial role to play in bringing down emissions.”"
