From Flushing to Hollywood

Season 1, Episode 81,   Apr 21, 2021, 10:59 AM

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, a show by the women of Amazin’ Avenue where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.
This week, we have a conversation with fellow Amazin’ Avenue writer, Grace Carbone. We had planned for this to be a fun episode about films, but of course we had to begin the show by discussing the latest reporting in The Athletic about the Mets’ toxic culture and the years-long poor treatment of women by the front office.
But ultimately this was mostly a fun episode about films. We chat with Grace about the upcoming Oscars—her favorite films and performances of the year, her predictions, and our favorite categories. We also each name our favorite baseball films.
Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.
