Have you been struggling to connect with your kids?

Like, these whole school holidays, no matter how hard you tried or how long you spent with them, you didnโ€™t really feel like you were really โ€˜withโ€™ them?

Youโ€™re not going crazy - and you are not alone! Connection is hard to master, especially with young ones. But never fear - because on this episode of Dorothy and the Dealer, we are going to talk you through ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ great tips to get you and your kids back in sync!

  1. True connection means being ๐๐‘๐„๐’๐„๐๐“. Connection is not just about being physically there - you must be energetically there too.ย  So give them your undivided attention. Donโ€™t watch tv, scroll your phone, or be stuck in the mindset of trying to escape the situation.
  2. Connection is different for each person. What works for one child, wonโ€™t for another. Similarly - you have to find ways to relate to them that are important to ๐˜๐Ž๐” too. That brings true connection.
  3. You donโ€™t have to love it or be great at it ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ% of the time. You accept that you canโ€™t be perfect with your partner or friends - so why do you expect you should be the same with your kids. Whatever they donโ€™t get from you they will find, so BREATHE.
  4. Kids process things ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ฒ, so give them (and yourself) a moment after you ask a question.ย
