Health Bodies Benefit From Vaccination Guidance For Visually Impaired Patients

Season 1, Episode 730,   Apr 13, 2021, 09:00 AM

Sight loss charities, RNIB and Guide Dogs, have created new guides based around the Covid-19 vaccination roll out.
The guides will help national health bodies, including hospitals, GP surgeries and pharmacies, to create programmes around the roll out that will inform and support blind and partially sighted people at all stages.
This will include accessible information, accessible info for appointments and advice on the best way to support someone at a vaccination centre, creating an inclusive, supportive and successful programme.
RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Robert Shilliday and Paula Beattie, from RNIB, to discuss the UK roll out and how successful the guide has been, so far, in Northern Ireland.
