Among the headlines for Monday, 5th April, 2021, Putrajaya Court of Appeal today dismissed an appeal by former Prime Minister Najib Razak to adjourn his appeal hearing against his conviction and jail sentence linked to the massive looting of the RM42 million SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.
Also, India added more than 103,000 coronavirus cases within the last 24 hours. Of the new cases reported on Monday morning, 57,700 were in the worst-hit state of Maharashtra, which ordered non-essential shops to shut from today and began enforcing an evening and weekend curfew, as well as a ban on large gatherings.
